Equity, Diversity & Inclusion

EDI Principles

Our group values and actively promotes diversity. We welcome trainees from all backgrounds and are committed to maintaining an inclusive and collaborative environment where every team member can thrive.

We strongly support the participation of women, LGBTQ+ individuals, and other underrepresented groups in science and encourage all motivated trainees to join our research programs.

What we do

Structural biology enzyme engineering

Structural biology & enzyme engineering

We investigate protein structure, dynamics and catalysis using NMR, X-ray crystallography and mutagenesis to understand how motions shape enzymatic function and to redesign proteins with new activities.

SPASE AI-guided protein design

SPASE – AI-guided protein design

SPASE (Soluble Protein Analog Selection Engine) is our in-house AI-assisted design pipeline that combines sequence design, stability and solubility predictions and rapid structure prediction to generate experimentally tractable protein variants.

Biomolecular food systems characterization

Biomolecular & food systems characterization

We develop NMR models to study maple syrup chemistry, terroir signatures, quality defects and other complex food and biomolecular systems.

Training environment

The Doucet Lab is part of a graduate-only research institute dedicated to high-impact science. Trainees benefit from access to advanced structural biology, analytical chemistry and biophysics platforms, as well as interdisciplinary collaborations and industrial partnerships.
